Agriculture Industry Forum scheduled to be held on March 3 – 5, 2020. The Forum will be hosted at the Nairobi Hospital Convention Centre, located in the New Anderson Building. It will begin at 8.00am daily. The event will culminate in an excursion to the internationally acclaimed Githunguri Dairies Limited plant on 5th March 2020.
The multi-stakeholder forum is co-convened by several institutions under the leadership of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Cooperative and the Council of Governors. Partners include Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), GIZ, RTI International, CABE, World Vision, Agriculture Council of Kenya, Pan African Agribusiness and Agroindustry Consortium among others. The event will be attended by 300 delegates, including representatives from the National Government, County Executive Committee Members (CECMs) from around the country and CEOs of leading Agricultural Parastatals. Other confirmed participants include key value chain actors drawn from the Private Sector and farmer/producer organizations, representatives the Academia and Research institutions, Development Partners and Civil Society
The Forum whose theme is “Re-envisioning Agribusiness: Towards stronger public – private partnerships,” will seek to address challenges faced by agricultural value chain actors, in the context of devolution. It will discuss actors, in the context of devolution. It will discuss strategies for unlocking the major bottlenecks faced by agribusinesses, other non-state actors when engaging with the National and County Governments. It will also advocate for the relevant policy and legislative reforms and call for the establishment of effective and sustainable systems in support of value chain growth and development
